Fitbit has launched two new activity trackers, the Zip and the One, both of which are wirelessly enabled with Bluetooth Smart. The two new devices enable users to sync in real-time with compatible devices such as the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and third-generation iPad, thanks to the latest version of Bluetooth technology. Previously, Fitbit devices could only upload data to the company’s portal and app when a user happened to be close to a wireless-hub connected to their PC.

The Fitbit Zip is the smaller of the two devices and focuses solely on activity tracking. It costs US$60 and is available now. In contrast the Fitbit One is pricier at US$100 and is not yet available. The more expensive device goes beyond just activity tracking to also include sleep monitoring and a new vibrating alarm.
