Etisalat has developed new service for cancer patients

17 OCT 2012

Etisalat, in partnership with Attinad Software, one of the operator’s existing partners, has developed a patient management solution for the Friends of Cancer Patients Association (FOCP). The application is suitable for use with smartphones and tablets.

The aim of the solution is to enable easy patient registration, examination and record management for FOCP, which offers a range of support services to cancer patients in the UAE while also raising awareness about the disease. To the latter end, the solution will enables the association to conduct surveys and then analyse the response through graphical dashboards.

Although not stated in the announcement, presumably the operator is referring to FOCP conducting surveys of patients and their families. One of FOCP’s stated aims is to more effectively collect patient data with the aim of creating what it terms a functional cancer registry.

The solution runs on Samsung Tab II tablets used by FOCP staff which can also be used by patients to see their own history.
