Digicel, the operator group with a presence in the Caribbean, Central America and Pacific, has reported a 16 percent increase in revenue for the six months ending in September, hitting US$1.24 billion for the first half of its fiscal year. EBITDA for the period was up 15 percent year on year to US$524 million. Subscriber numbers rose 14 percent year on year to 11.1 million across Digicel’s 30 markets, with revenue from value-added services up 47 percent. The period encompassed the sale of Digicel Honduras to America Movil and  the acquisition of Claro Jamaica from the same company, as well as significant expansion in Haiti.
