Analysts predict Deutsche Telekom will struggle to hit its 2011 profit target due to poor performance from its T-Mobile USA division, reports Dow Jones Newswires. Deutsche Telekom agreed a deal for AT&T to acquire its US business last year which was scrapped after significant regulatory opposition. Following the failure of the deal, AT&T paid Deutsche Telekom US$3 billion in cash and handed over US$1 billion-worth of spectrum.
