Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene Obermann has told an investor conference in Barcelona that the operator is looking for further takeover targets to reduce the company’s dependence on its domestic market in Germany. Deutsche Telekom has lost approximately 3.8 million fixed-line customers in the last year.
Forbes reports that, above all, the company is focusing on mobile phone and Internet operators. Earlier this month Deutsche Telekom was reported to be in talks to buy Hutchison Whampoa Ltd.’s 3 Italia as well as courting Tiscali SpA.
