ComReg, Ireland’s telecom watchdog, said that it has “reasonable grounds” to believe that Hutchison 3G Ireland committed an offence by providing it with false information, which was then used by ComReg to compile its Quarterly Key Data Report. The regulator said that it plans to restate some historic data, and the operator has agreed to measures including the independent verification of data in advance to sign-off, and additional engagement with ComReg before information is finally submitted.
