Dow Jones Newswires reports that Thai operators CAT Telecom and True have inked a 3G alliance, in a deal that will give some certainty to True’s operation moving forward – its 2G license expires in 2013, while the 3G licensing process in the country is in a hiatus. CAT has previously partnered with the mobile operation of Hutchison in the country, which is in the process of being acquired by True. As part of the deal, the operators will migrate away from CDMA technology to HSPA, it was said.
