The Financial Times reports that the recent acquisition of Tiscali boosted first-half revenues at Carphone Warehouse, prompting the broadband provider and mobile phone retailer to raise its earnings guidance for the current year. The group said on Friday it was on track to demerge Best Buy, which includes high street Carphone Warehouse stores, and TalkTalk, the broadband provider, by the end of the first quarter of next year as it reported a return to profit for the first six months of the year. For the six months ending in September, Carphone Warehouse made a pre-tax profit of £30 million compared with a loss of £23 million in the same period last year, on revenues that rose 13 percent to £789 million.
