The Belgian government will hold an auction for the country’s fourth 3G licence and five spectrum blocks for LTE in September, reports Telecompaper, citing De Standaard. The first auction will be for the UMTS licence which found no buyer in a 2001 auction. The 15 MHz UMTS block has to yield at least EUR80 million. The five 2.6 GHz spectrum licences are divided into four blocks of 15 MHz for LTE, which are expected to sell for at least EUR15 million. In addition, there will be an auction for a 50 MHz WiMAX licence for at least EUR25 million.
