Cellular-news reports that Iraq operator Asiacell has complied with a letter from CMC, the country’s communications regulator, calling for it to block calls to a batch of 5-million SIM cards that were allegedly issued illegally by Zain. Operators are supposed to request permission before issuing new SIM cards, a procedure which was not followed.
