America Movil, Latin America’s largest mobile operator, reported a 27.5 percent jump in second-quarter profits as sales grew despite a slowdown in new subscribers, reports Forbes. The company said that second-quarter net profit rose to MXN22.5 billion (US$1.7 billion), compared to MXN17.6 billion in the same period of 2008.
