America Movil has announced plans to acquire 100 percent of US MVNO Simple Mobile, via its US subsidiary Tracfone Wireless. The target has around one million customers and is currently owned by T-Mobile USA. Analysts have put the likely price of the acquisition at more than US$350 million, and the deal is expected to close in the current quarter. America Movil earlier this week had a EUR3.2 billion offer to increase its stake in Dutch operator group KPN rejected as being too low.
