Cellular News reports that ATRA, the telecoms regulator for Afghanistan, has awarded contracts to deploy 67 base stations in underserved rural areas via its telecoms development fund. This is the third tender funded by the regulator and was for 103 towers – although the operators active in the country only applied to construct 67 of these.
