Apple told US regulators on Friday that the Google Voice app for the iPhone appears to replace the iPhone's core mobile functionality and user interface with its own system for voice calls, text messaging and voicemail, reports Reuters
Dell preps US Android launch
The Seattle Times reports that Michael Dell has said his company will "probably" launch Android phones in the US next year. Although Dell didn't specify which operator will offer the new devices, earlier this month the Wall Street Journal reported that the manufacturer will release an Android phone in early 2010 for AT&T.
Clearwire CEO open to switching technologies
WiMAX service provider Clearwire is keeping an open mind on its future choice of mobile technology, according to a Dow Jones Newswires report. In an interview with the publication, Clearwire's chief executive, Bill Morrow, said that if LTE becomes the dominant next-generation mobile technology (rather than WiMAX), the company can easily switch technologies via a software upgrade.
