The GSMA this morning announced its new board for the next two years, re-electing Telecom Italia CEO Franco Bernabè (pictured) and Telenor CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas as chairman and deputy chair, respectively.

Both Bernabè and Baksaas have served in their respective roles since January 2011. The current term lasts from January 2013 to December 2014.

“We are at an important time in the development of the mobile industry – following years of unprecedented growth, we are now faced with new challenges, as well as further growth potential,” commented Bernabè.

The GSMA board has 26 seats, including Bernabè, Baksaas and 23 other representatives from operators (listed below), alongside the GSMA’s director general, Anne Bouverot.
