T-Mobile US’ latest Uncarrier initiative will see the company give customers unlimited data specifically for video streaming services like Netflix and HBO.

According to a leak from technology writer Evan Blass,  T-Mobile US will make the announcement at its next Uncarrier press event, scheduled for next week (10 November).

The company, headed up by outspoken CEO John Legere, is promoting the event under the tagline: “We never hit pause”, which is adding fuel to the speculation.

Janice Kapner, T-Mobile SVP of corporate communications, did not deny the speculation in a statement to CNET, stating: “There are always rumours ahead of our Uncarrier events and it’s part of the fun.”

The move would specifically benefit customers that are on capped data plans, as it would allow them to stream online video without taking a hit on their monthly data allowance.

T-Mobile US previously rolled out an initiative called Music Freedom, which typically sees operators or content providers footing the bill for data download costs for music.
