T-Mobile US said it added a total of 8.3 million customers to its network for the second year in a row, taking it past 63 million subscribers at the end of 2015.

Equaling last year’s net customer additions, which were the biggest in the company’s history, rounds off a landmark year for the operator, after it usurped long term rival Sprint in terms of connections to become the third largest operator in the US in August.

Since then, the company has seemingly continued its subscriber growth momentum, stating that it added 2.1 million customers in Q4 to mark eleven consecutive quarters of over 1 million net adds, as well as three quarters in a row with more than 2 million total net additions.

For the full year, T-Mobile added 4.5 million net postpaid customers, beating its revised forecast of 3.8 million-4.2 million, which it set in its Q3 results. Prepaid net customer additions hit 1.3 million for the full year.

The remainder were wholesale net additions (2.4 million for the twelve months).

John Legere, president and CEO at T-Mobile US, said in a statement the company had “no plans to stop disrupting the status quo in wireless”, referring to its “Uncarrier” initiatives, while highlighting that the latest customer results meant it had added 23,000 customers per day, for the last two years.

T-Mobile US said it would share more details, as well as its full year financial results and Q4 numbers, next month.
