VIDEO INTERVIEW: Manoj Kohli, CEO of international operations at India’s Bharti Airtel, applauded Mark Zuckerberg’s “profound vision” of connecting everyone on the planet. He then called on other large OTT players to have similar aspirations after hearing the Facebook CEO give his keynote presentation at this year’s Mobile World Congress.

“The more they cover the world with exciting services, more data usage will happen and more broadband penetration will happen,” Kohli told Mobile World Live in a video interview. “Customers will go to internet access much faster and stay there longer.”

Kohli pointed out that “our 3G networks have no meaning without exciting services”, but added that exciting services have no meaning either without mobile broadband networks.

“The telecom and OTT sectors are actually like siamese twins,” he said. “They work together, are linked to each other, and are attached to each other. Our victory, at the end of the day, depends on each other. We have to collaborate.”
