Qualcomm said it is willing to modify its pricing in China and put an end to an antitrust probe conducted by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), according to Reuters.

NDRC, in a statement on its website, said its officials had met on Thursday (21 August) with a Qualcomm delegation, which included President Derek Aberle.

“Qualcomm executives discussed with NDRC officials several topics in an effort to reach a comprehensive resolution,” the US chip company added in an e-mailed statement seen by the news agency. “We are continuing to cooperate with NDRC and cannot comment further.”

The latest twist comes as China’s authorities have reportedly had discussions with their counterparts in South Korea to share notes on the mainland’s antitrust case against US chipmaker Qualcomm for alleged monopolistic practices.

NDRC has been conducting an anti-trust investigation on Qualcomm since November over its patent licensing and pricing. NDRC said in February that Qualcomm was suspected of abusing its dominant position in the wireless chipset sector .
