The Internet of Things was the top Twitter trend at Mobile World Congress, according to data from agency Hotwire/33Digital.

IoT topped the list with 3,697 mentions by the end of Wednesday. It was followed by wearables (2,191 mentions), the connected car (1,527 mentions), 5G (1,434 mentions) and privacy (1,103).

In terms of the top brands mentioned, Hotwire/33Digital said that Samsung led the way with 41,519 mentions – aided no doubt by its high-profile launch of the Galaxy S5.

And Nokia’s shift to Android (33,599 mentions) topped the new product launches from Sony (24,392 mentions) and HTC (14,392 mention).

Taking fifth place was Mobile World Congress keynoter Facebook, with Mark Zuckerberg’s company landing 11,276 mentions.
