VimpelCom, Russia's second-largest mobile operator, said yesterday it has signed a distribution deal with Apple to sell iPhone 3G in the country, reports Reuters. Rival operators MTS and MegaFon are also rumoured to have signed deals.

Shyam Telelink has secured its pan-Indian CDMA spectrum, according to a Business Standard report. The move sees the start-up operator - majority owned by Russian congolomerate Sistema - set to launch services in 21 circles.
