ZTE unveils US low-cost phablet

ZTE announced its ZMAX PRO, which it described as “the first US carrier-supported phone under $100 that features a fingerprint sensor”.

The device is being made available by value-focused operator MetroPCS, with ZTE stating that it is the number two “no contract” device maker in the US, priced at $99 after an “instant rebate”.

ZMAX PRO has a 6-inch full HD display, 3,400mAh battery, 13MP and 5MP cameras, and up to 32GB of internal storage.

MetroPCS is currently taking pre-registrations for the smartphone. It is described as “coming August 2016”.
