ZTE is to launch new smartphones at Mobile World Congress next week which will include a 6-inch screen phablet, and what has been described as “one of the first Firefox OS 1.3 devices”.

Adam Zeng, CEO of the ambitious Chinese vendor’s Mobile Devices business, said: “This year, we are looking to work even more closely with our customers worldwide to develop the products they want and deliver a superior customer experience.”

The company’s headline devices will be the Grand Memo II LTE, a phablet device with 6-inch screen, which is a successor to last year’s Grand Memo, and the Firefox OS-powered Open C, in partnership with Mozilla and Telefonica.

Also being unveiled is the latest version of the company’s MiFavor user interface, MiFavor 2.3, which it said will “provide a superior experience for ZTE mobile users”.

The company will also showcase other devices, including the Grand S II flagship smartphone and Nubia-branded mid-tier line.
