ZTE unveiled a device powered by Intel’s new Z2580 processor which, when compared to the silicon company’s previous chip, is claimed to be “twice as fast for computing, and three times as fast for graphics”.

The Android-powered smartphone, called Geek, has a 5-inch screen, with an 8-megapixel main camera and 8GB of onboard storage.

The Z2580 chip, which runs at 2.0GHz, is also said to offer reduced power consumption.

ZTE announced plans for a smartphone powered by the next-generation Intel silicon last month, building on an existing relationship between the companies.

Geek was unveiled at the Intel Developer Forum 2013 in Beijing, China.
