Hot on the heels of launching its first Windows 8.1 tablet, Xolo, an India-based devices brand, is reportedly on the cusp of launching the world’s lightest smartphone.

According to unnamed sources cited by Times of India (ToI), the ultra-light smartphone – running on Windows Phone – will weigh in at under 100g and be available from early July.

The price is rumoured to be around INR12,000 ($200).

Although no Xolo spokesperson was available for comment, ToI said the new ‘Xolo Win’ smartphone could sport a 4.7-inch screen. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 200-8212 quadcore processor is believed to power the device.

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 mini remains the lightest phone at 107g, says ToI, followed by Apple’s iPhone 5S (112g) and HTC’s Desire 500 (123g).
