LIVE FROM LONDON LAUNCH: Along with its tablet announcements, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy NX, an Android-enabled camera that also offers an LTE connection.

The company is pushing the new device’s image sharing capability but also its credentials as a serious camera.

GALAXY NX (6)Thirty lenses that are used on Samsung’s NX camera range can be used on the new device. The Galaxy NX also boasts a 20.3 megapixel camera.

Meanwhile, the company wanted to emphasise the Galaxy NX’s 4G mobile connectivity.

The device runs Android 4.2.2 and has a 4.8 inch screen which, according to Samsung, is one of the largest available on a digital camera. It also has a 1.6 GHz quad core processor.

Jean-Daniel Ayme, Samsung’s vice president of European telecoms operations, said the new device “takes connected cameras to a whole new level”. However, pricing details were not released.

The company also recently launched the Galaxy S 4 Zoom cameraphone and spent time this evening talking up the capabilities of that device.
