Samsung announced ‘Black Edition’ versions of its Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini device, which it said “build on its commitment to deliver innovative technology with premium design choices”.

While the company is widely expected to unveil its next-generation Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress (and traditionally an S5 mini announcement would follow in the months after), clearly the vendor feels that there is still some mileage in the current-generation products.

The devices are said to feature a “high-quality leather-like textured black back cover and bezel”. In addition, they include “a suite of eight dedicated wallpapers for both the home and lock screens as well as several new and exclusive ringtones”.

The Black Edition devices will be available in select markets from next month.
