24 FEB 2013

Samsung announced the launch of Galaxy Note 8.0, which it described as a “new addition to the mid-size tablet category”.

Joining its existing Note II “phablet” and the Galaxy Note 10.1 in the line, as the name suggests it features an 8-inch screen.

It supports Samsung’s S Pen stylus, to deliver “the ease of using a traditional pen and paper”, which has been updated to enable stylus control of the physical menu and back buttons on the device.

There is also a multi-window feature which allows access to several apps at the same time.

Galaxy Note 8 also has a “reading mode”, to display ebooks with optimised resolution.

The Android-powered tablet has a 1.6GHz quad-core processor and integrated HSPA connectivity.

Worldwide availability is slated for the second quarter of 2013.
