Samsung announced its GamePad peripheral and Mobile Console app, which it said “enhance the gaming experience on Samsung’s popular line of Galaxy devices”.

The add-on supports devices ranging from 4-inches to 6.3 inches, covering the bulk of the vendor’s smartphone and tablet line. Users can also connect Galaxy devices to a home TV via either an HDMI cable or AllShare Screen Mirroring, for a “video game console experience from their living room”.

GamePad connects to devices through Bluetooth paring, and devices running Android 4.3 such as Galaxy Note 3, S4, Note II and SIII offer easy connectivity via NFC tag and quicker access to gales via a “play” button.

The Mobile Console app is available for download from Samsung Apps and “offers 35 dedicated games at launch with much more to come in 2014”.

GamePad is currently available in select European markets and “will be available in additional regions in the coming weeks”.
