There was more speculation concerning Samsung’s anticipated next-generation Note phablet, including claims that the device will include a high-end camera module.

According to Etnews, the Galaxy Note III will have a 13 megapixel camera “that can favourably compare with any other digital camera”.

Samsung is apparently working on Optical Image Stabilisation technology and enhanced shutter functions which will be introduced with Note III.

This means it is likely to include similar hardware, but different software, to the camera used in the current Galaxy S4 flagship.

The report cited an official from the South Korean handset giant, who noted that “nothing has yet been confirmed”.

Separately, it was claimed the device would ship with a quad-core Qualcomm processor, instead of the 8-core Exynos 5 chip manufactured by Samsung itself.

Both of these have been used in the current Galaxy S4 flagship – with the Samsung processor coming in for some criticism.

Know Your Mobile said the vendor is having trouble manufacturing the Exynos 5 in enough volume, and also feels that the Qualcomm option is “superior and more cost effective”.

Galaxy Note III is expected to run Android 4.3, an updated version of the Jelly Bean platform which may come ahead of the next full release (Android 5, Key Lime Pie).

The device is also expected to have a 5.9-inch full-HD screen with stylus support.

It is expected that the Note III will be launched at the IFA event in Germany in September 2013, with availability following soon after.
