Samsung unveiled its Galaxy View big-screen Android device, which it teased at IFA 2015 back in September.

Piling on the hyperbole, the company described the 18.4-inch unit as an “unprecedented movable entertainment experience that immerses viewers in streaming video, live TV and their favourite touchscreen apps”.

It is priced at $599.99.

Powered by a 1.6GHz octacore processor, the device has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, expandable via a microSD slot. It has a 2.1MP camera “for large as life video chat”, and has Wi-Fi connectivity.

A version with optional LTE is also available.
