HTC is reported to have parted company with a number of executives, with one even taking to Twitter to advise his colleagues to “just quit. Leave now”.

The Verge even went as far as to state that the vendor is “in disarray”.

Kouji Kodera, chief product officer of the ailing Taiwanese smartphone maker, is reported to have left the company, alongside Eric Lin, product strategy manager, who expressed his opinion via Twitter (Lin is now said to be at Microsoft).

It was also said that Jason Gordon, VP of global communications, had parted ways with the company after a seven-year stint, amid rumours that Ben Ho, its CMO, was looking to move its planning and strategy responsibilities back to the Taipei headquarters.

Other reported departures include Rebecca Rowland, global retail marketing manager (apparently now at Microsoft), and John Starkweather, director of digital marketing (now at AT&T).

And CNet said that Lennard Hoornik, CEO of HTC Asia, is also among the ranks of departing execs.

Noting that the marketing team appears to have been the worst hit, The Verge said that HTC’s US hardware and software design teams “keep humming along”.

While corporate restructures and job changes are certainly not exclusive to HTC, they do come at a critical time for the vendor. It has effectively bet its future on the One smartphone which, while well regarded, was hit by supply issues which impacted its rollout.

And the First smartphone, which features Facebook’s Home user interface, has been met with little success.

The company has reported a run of poor financial figures, ahead of the launch of One.
