Smartwatch company Pebble announced a set of new products, launching a Kickstarter campaign to drum-up support for the new devices.

The company has already seen more than $6.7 million pledged.

It said Pebble 2 ($99 on Kickstarter) “reimagines the essential smartwatch with heart rate-enabled activity tracking”. It features a high contrast black-and-white display, heart rate monitor, activity and sleep tracking, and is water resistant to 30 metres.

Pebble Time 2 ($169) “delivers the ultimate pro smartwatch with a larger, colour epaper screen and heart rate monitoring”. It also tracks activity and sleep and is water resistant.

Shipping date for Pebble 2 is September 2016, with Pebble Time 2 scheduled for November 2016.

Also unveiled was Pebble Core ($69), a device which it described as “a clipable fitness device that lets you leave your phone at home” – compared to a reimagination of the iPod Shuffle. It can stream music from Spotify and sync GPS data with Runkeeper, Strava and Under Armour Record.

Pebble described it as “the first 3G, truly connected ultrawearable”. It also includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and has 4GB of onboard storage.

It will also offer a “Core for Hackers” device, which “fits on your keychain to become your magic button for anything”.

Pebble Core is set to ship in January 2017.
