Chinese device maker Meizu launched its latest smartphone, m3, part of a line the company said is designed to offer “quality for [the] young”.

“Until now, all six M series products have been very popular and with an average product price well under CNY1,000 ($154), we are leading the development of affordable, quality smartphones in China,” said Li Nan, VP of sales and marketing for the company.

m3 has a 5-inch HD (720 pixel) screen, and is powered by an octacore MediaTek processor. It has 13MP main and 5MP front cameras, with “smart beauty technology” and face auto-exposure enhancement algorithm.

It also features the mBack button of its predecessor, integrating Android’s back and home buttons “to simplify user experience”.

It will be available in five colour options, priced at CNY599 ($93) with 16GB of storage or CNY799 with 32GB.

m3 Note
Meizu announced its m3 Note earlier in April, featuring a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) screen. It is also powered by an octacore MediaTek chip, with 13MP main and 5MP front cameras.

The higher-spec device also includes a fingerprint sensor.

m3 Note costs CNY799 for 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, or CNY999 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

Pro 6
Separately, Meizu unveiled its Pro 6 device, a smartphone powered by a decacore MediaTek processor and 4GB of RAM.

With a 5.2-inch 1080p display, it also includes a new fingerprint scanner with 0.2-second recognition time and fast charging. It has 21MP rear and 5MP front cameras, with 32GB or 64GB storage options.

This device was described as a “luxury product with exceptional user experience”.
