Only days after LG announced mass-production of what it claims is the world’s first flexible OLED panel for smartphones, Engadget has unearthed a bit more detail about G Flex, the first curved-screen device from the South Korean manufacturer.

For a start, it will be out some time next month and have a 6-inch screen.

LG describes the display as “bendable and unbreakable”, although the screen loses its flexibility when fitted into the smartphone

More interestingly, perhaps, the curve is from top to bottom.

By contrast, the 5.7-inch display screen on Samsung’s Galaxy Round smartphone, showcased last month, is curved from left to right.

Pricing and specifications of G Flex are still unknown.
