LG Electronics talked-up the enterprise capabilities of its recently-announced V20 smartphone, stating that it has been “created to keep up with today’s mobile workforce”.

It said the Android Nougat-powered device “will feature an enterprise-grade, IT-compliant and secure solution for IT decision-makers and enterprise mobility managers”. This includes support for Enhanced Exchange Active Sync, to provide full wireless email and contact sync, VPN and MDM capabilities.

Among the features highlighted were Android for Work, which gives the ability to isolate and secure work and personal apps, and support for biometric security (fingerprint scanner). Also included is a Microsoft Office-compatible app suite.

Also highlighted was the onboard storage (64GB) and microSD (up to 2TB) expansion capabilities, and removable 3,200mAh battery. It is said to “combine durability with functionality”, complying with the MIL-STD 810G drop test.

LG has previously focused on the consumer features of the device, including its enhanced audio capabilities. Its headline feature is a secondary display for notifications and alerts.

“Today’s workforce is more mobile than ever, and requires an enterprise-grade device that balances security, productivity and durability,” said Michael Lombardo, vice president, sales and marketing, LG Electronics MobileComm USA.
