Ambitious Chinese device maker Lenovo unveiled a new high-end smartphone called Vibe Z (or K910), although as yet it is not clear if and when the device will make it out of the vendor’s home market.

Vibe Z is powered by a 2.2GHz quadcore Qualcomm processor and has 2GB of RAM. It features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display, and has a 13MP Sony-powered camera.

It also appears to offer dual-SIM support.

According to Engadget, the device will come in GSM/WCDMA and GSM/CDMA versions for the Chinese market, alongside the international LTE incarnation.

Also available will be a flip-case similar to Samsung’s S-View cover, which not only enables users to see part of the screen when the device is closed, but which also allows calls to be answered or rejected when closed.

Research firm IDC said that Lenovo was the fourth-biggest smartphone vendor worldwide during the third quarter of 2013, driven by its strength in APAC (and China especially).

But the company is also pushing hard into other markets, with the intention to launch in “at least 20” new territories in the near future.
