Finnish smartphone start-up Jolla is set to begin sales of its first device later this month, with its eponymous flagship debuting in its home market.

According to reports, Jolla will be made available by operator DNA on 27 November. It was not revealed when it will see an international rollout.

The news is hardly surprising – Jolla announced its partnership with DNA some time ago, and said that shipping would start “by the end of 2013”, but it is the first time a date has been put on the launch.

The headline feature of the device is a two-part design, with the changeable rear portion enabling users to customise their smartphones – with “colours, fonts, tones, profiles, [and] functionalities” modified by swapping.
