Jawbone updates Up range

05 NOV 2014

Wearables company Jawbone announced a pair of new products, which are set to reach the market ahead of the lucrative Christmas holiday sales period.

At the entry level is the $49.99 (£39.99 in the UK) Up Move (pictured), which is described as “a great option for anyone at the beginning of a fitness or weight loss journey”. It comes in five colours with corresponding clips, with wrist straps also available in two widths.

The device includes an accelerometer to count steps taken, and it can also be worn in bed to track sleep. It syncs with Jawbone’s Up App via Bluetooth Smart.

Up Move has a replaceable battery which lasts up to six months, removing the need for recharging.

Further up the scale is Up3, which features a “patented multi-sensor platform that collects and analyses a wide range of biometric signals”.

It includes the ability to track resting heart rates, as well as featuring “new smart algorithms” which allow it to automatically identify workouts and classify activities, including running, cross-training, tennis, “and many more”.

Up3 is said to feature a “slim, stylish and low-profile design”, offering up to seven days of battery life and water resistance up to 10 meters.

It costs $179.99 (£149.99) and, as with Up Move, will be available through a range of retailers.
