Huawei said that as of June 2014, it had shipped more than one million of its Ascend P7 smartphones, as it heads for its target of 10 million units.

The ambitious Chinese company unveiled the device early in May, as it looks to stake its claim on the premium smartphone market. Other recent flagships have come from LG (G3), Sony (Z2), Samsung (Galaxy S5), Nokia (Lumia 930) and HTC (One M8).

Of course, one million shipments is different from one million sales, although the device has been well received in reviews – aided by the fact that it comes in below many other high-spec devices in terms of price.

According to reports, Huawei sold four million units of its P6, the predecessor to P7, indicating it is looking for a significant ramp with the new device.
