HTC can resume UK shipments of the One Mini after an appeals court overturned an earlier High Court ruling.

While the High Court had stayed an injunction for an import ban on HTC’s flagship One device – brought about in the first place by a patent suit filed by Nokia – it did not do the same for the One Mini.

HTC had until 6 December to appeal that decision.

“HTC is delighted that the Court of Appeals has granted a stay on the injunction against our products,” the firm said in a statement quoted by various news outlets.

“We will immediately resume shipment of all of our devices into the UK, including the entire HTC One family. Similarly, our customers should feel confident in their ability to promote and sell all HTC devices.”

HTC added that even though it planned to “aggressively appeal” the Nokia’s patent suit, it would “continue to work with our chip suppliers on alternative solutions to ensure minimal disruption to our business in the future”.

The alleged infringement relates to processors manufactured by Broadcom and Qualcomm, which are among HTC’s suppliers.

According to report by V3.co.uk, Nokia is looking to appeal the injunction stay in the new year.

“It is unfortunate that the stay means that HTC can continue to benefit from its unauthorised and uncompensated use of Nokia innovations,” the Finnish company said in a statement quoted by the publication.

“We look forward to the Court of Appeal confirming that the patent is valid and infringed, lifting the stay on the injunction and awarding Nokia financial compensation for HTC’s infringement.”
