Provided you live in the US, have filled in the online booking form – and don’t mind splashing out $1,500 – you can own Google Glass eyewear.

The sale, however, lasts only for one day – 15 April.

Google is clearly moving cautiously in attracting so-called ‘Glass Explorers’ – its name for Google Glass wearers – before it makes a bigger marketing push (with no doubt lower prices and taking into account customer feedback).

According to research firm IDC, shipment volumes in the wearable computing market – which include Google Glass and other wearable accessories – will exceed 19 million units in 2014 (more than three times last year’s volume).

IDC estimates that the global market will grow to 111.9 million units by 2018.
