Speculation about the potential features of Samsung’s next flagship, Galaxy S7, has been the order of the day, although few of the mooted technologies were particularly surprising.

The strongest suggestion is that the device will feature a pressure sensitive screen, similar to Apple’s iPhone 6s. And while Huawei has also adopted the technology for a version of its Mate S device, it has not so far been widely integrated by an Android device maker.

Also suggested is a USB Type-C connector, another feature that is becoming popular among device makers. This would enable faster charging and data transfer.

The traditional jump in camera specs is also expected, although it is believed this will lead to the removal of the bump on the back of the device from which the camera lens currently protrudes.

And also mooted is a retina scanner, to add another level of biometric security.

Finally it was suggested that the portfolio will be made up of four devices: Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7 Plus and Galaxy S7 Plus Edge.

Earlier this year, the company announced Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge (with curved screen) in February, with a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus following in August. Another Mobile World Congress (February 21, 2016) unveiling for the Galaxy S7 devices is thought to be likely.
