AT&T lifted the wraps on Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Active, a new version of the vendor’s flagship device “designed to withstand the bumps and bruises of everyday life”.

Many of the features of the device are similar to the standard S5: both have 5.1-inch screens, are powered by 2.5GHz quadcore Qualcomm processors, and include a 16 megapixel camera. Both run Android 4.4, and include LTE connectivity.

But AT&T highlighted that S5 Active, which is shock resistant, water resistant, and dust proof, has a “convenience key” that enables users to launch apps related to outdoor activity.

The operator is selling the device for a hefty $715 without contract, or $200 with a two-year service plan.
