EE is to debut its own 4G tablet called the Eagle, which the UK operator is billing as an affordable alternative to the iPad mini.

The Huawei-built tablet follows EE’s launch earlier this year of its own smartphone, the Kestrel.

The tablet runs on Android Jelly Bean. It features an 8-inch screen, a 1.6 GHz processor, 5MP camera and 16GB of memory.

The Eagle is priced at £50 with a £15 per month plan that includes 2GB of data or £200 on pay-as-you-go. It is available from July.

The operator also announced a new 4G-enabled device for providing in-car Wi-Fi coverage called the Buzzard.

The device provides in-car Wi-Fi coverage for drivers via EE’s 4G network. It launches on 28 May.  The operator is also debuting two mobile Wi-Fi devices – the Kite and Osprey. They will be available in July are from 28 May respectively.

The Buzzard will be available with £10 per month plans with an additional £19 upfront (or free on more expensive 24 month plans), or for £50 on pay as you go. The Osprey is priced at the same level.

The Kite will be available with £10 per month plans with an additional £29 upfront (free on more expensive 24 month plans), or for £70 on pay as you go.
