NTT Docomo announced the first in its Raku-Raku line of easy-to-use smartphones to support Google Play, in the shape of the Fujitsu-made F-09E.

The device apparently “inherits the highly simplified usability and operability features of its predecessor”, including “extra-large screen fonts and… touch panel with tactile response similar to a conventional phone keypad”.

And while the device is not part of Docomo’s mainstream line, it does not skimp in terms of specification.

It is powered by a 1.7GHz quadcore processor, runs Android 4.2, supports LTE connectivity, and includes NFC and an 8.1MP camera.

The company said the device, which it refers to as Smart Phone Premium, follows the launch of the first smartphone in the Raku Raku line in August last year.

Raku Raku Smart Phone Premium is scheduled for launch “between late September and early October 2013”.
