Chinese brand Homtom is set to launch its first smartphones next month, focusing on battery life and fast charging technology.

Two devices are in the works, Homtom HT5 and Homtom HT6, which have battery capacities of 4250mAh and 6250mAh respectively.

In the case of HT6, this equates to seven days of average or three days of heavy use, and with the battery at 5 per cent charge it can still standby for another 65 hours.

Fast charging comes through MediaTek’s Pump Express technology, which can power the phone to 75 per cent within 30 minutes. It can also be used to charge other mobile devices.

Other specifications given were a 5.5-inch screen and 9.9mm ultra-slim body.

The company provided no detail of Homtom HT5.

Homtom appears to be related to Doogee, another Chinese smartphone player targeting “excellent but economical” devices. In turn, Doogee is a subsidiary of KVD International, a company founded in 2002 to focus on the communication equipment and accessories market.
