US book retailer Barnes & Noble (B&N) announced another tablet resulting from its partnership with Samsung, called Galaxy Tab S2 Nook.

While B&N had followed a similar path to Amazon in developing its own line of tablets (again, as an extension to an e-reader line), the company shelved this activity having failed to gain much traction. It followed-up last year with a partnership with Samsung to offer co-branded devices, leading to the launch of the Galaxy Tab 4 Nook.

The new tablet is said to blend “Samsung’s elegant design and multi-tasking power with Nook’s unparalleled reading and entertainment experience”. It is based on the 8-inch version of the Galaxy Tab S2 announced earlier this year.

Pricing is $399, with a promotional content bundle available at launch.
