16 FEB 2015

ASUS said it is targeting 27 million mobile device shipments in 2015, marking growth of 50 per cent year-on-year from 17.9 million in 2014, as it looks for what it describes as “breakthrough growth”.

The company’s recently announced ZenFone 2(pictured) was highlighted as “creating a quantum leap in Taiwan and APAC”, as well as providing an entry point into European and US markets. It was also described as “the weapon to enter the major league in China”.

The figure of 1.5 million ZenFone shipments monthly during the last quarter of 2014 was reiterated.

According to PCWorld, the company is to unveil new mobile products in France and the US late in March – although this may be international debuts for ZenFone 2, which first hit the limelight at CES2015 during January.
