Amazon announced an updated version of its Fire tablet, with three new colours and more storage options, as well as more options for Fire Kids Edition.

The tablet is now available in magenta, blue and tangerine, with 8GB internal storage for $49.99 or 16 GB for $69.99.

It comes with a 7-inch IPS display, a 1.3 GHz processor, front and rear-facing cameras and 128 GB expandable storage through microSD.

The Fire OS 5 Bellini will include an updated user interface that claims to “replicate the look and feel of a magazine, making browsing and searching for your content easier than ever.”

Other features include 7 hours of mixed use battery life and a specialised filter to limit exposure to blue light for a better night-time reading experience.

Fire Kids Edition
In addition to Fire Kids Edition being available with 8GB storage in pink and blue, it now comes in green and with the option of 16 GB storage for $119.99.

It will also come with one year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited that includes “age-appropriate” books, videos and apps as well as “hand-curated” YouTube videos and websites and a 2-year warranty.
